ChaseChase is a group founded by Bill Chase, an excellent trumpet player. Chase plays jazz/rock fusion with asound eminiscent of Blood Sweat and Tears or older Chicago rock songs. Some of the members of the band died in a plane crash in the early 1970s which led to the demise of the band itself.
DC TalkDC Talk is one of only a few Christian Rock bands that I can stand to listen to. Most Christian musicians provide plenty of word with little musicality to back it up. Jars of Clay is probably the best Christian contemporary band out there. But DC Talk ranks right up there in the number two spot. DC Talk plays rock, ballads, and even does some rap. I normally HATE rap, but I find that the rap that DC Talk does is entertaining and tasteful. I hope you will enjoy their music as well.
Deep Blue SomethingDeep Blue Something is a band that has lighthearted songs that kind of remind me of a light and happy High School band. Their music is not heavy, nor is it slow and sappy. It is kind of uplifting and joyful. Their instrumentation is very good, and they have an interesting musical style. Despite being much newer than the classic rock I usually listen to, I still enjoy their music very much.

Jars Of ClayJars of Clay is a contemporary Christian rock band that, unlike many Christian artists, manages to produce music that is interesting to listen to, as well as incorporating the message of God. Their musical style could be described as alternative (although alternative is pretty mainstream these days). They have a good mix of reasonably complex rock arrangements, and also some softer ballads with acoustic guitar and a quieter tone. Their message about God is consistent throughout, but to me it seems like their music comes about as a result of their experience with God, rather than just singing a song about God, which is what most other Christian musicians sound like to me. I believe Jars of Clay music is music which even non-Christians would find interesting.
Pink FloydPink Floyd is probably my all time favorite group. Their albums span four decades of rock history and contain psychedelic, rock, classic rock, symphonic and even some disco. Although Roger Waters and the rest of Pink Floyd eventually separated due to personality conflicts, their music stylings interplayed perfectly. They are known for album oriented rock, meaning that the entire album had a theme, and made most sense when played in sequence. Particularly, their double album, The Wall was even made into a movie, showing just how much of a storyline an album could have. Animals, was of course, also an entire album about different kinds of animals, while also being a social and political commentary. I hope that you will purchase Pink Floyd albums and enjoy them as much as I have. Oh, yeah, contrary to what you may have heard, you don't have to do drugs to enjoy this music.
David Gilmour
Joe WalshJoe Walsh is a former member of the Eagles and the James Gang. He is best known for songs such as Rocky Mountain Way and Life's Been Good. He is an excellent guitar player, not known for blinding solos, but more for soulfull slide guitar. He is an interesting person outside of the music realm as well, having appeared on the Drew Carey show for s short stretch, and also guest hosting the Steve Dahl show on WCKG in Chicago.
Roger WatersRoger Waters was the bass player and lead singer for Pink Floyd until he left the band due to personality conflicts. Some of his solo work is pretty good, though not as good as David Gilmour's in my opinion. His solo work, much like Pink Floyds albums, are usually focused on a theme.
